SHREKTACULAR

Why do people think I'm a crazy socialite with a wild and glamorous life? I have no idea. When it comes down to it, I'm nothing more than Auntie D. I have so many nieces and nephews and they are all so important to me. But one thing is for sure, they do NOT think Auntie D is cool. They think Auntie D is the crazy lady who picks them up from the bus stop wearing beat up sweats and unwashed, tousled hair. Because I am. And I do.

One of my Auntie "duties" is to give them all the surprises that my childhood lacked. So last week I took them to Shrektacular at Opryland Hotel. My friend Katie Haskell is head of production so she made my niece and nephew "VIPs" and gave us special front row seating. My niece said "Auntie D, I'm famous like you and my Mom." That was the best part of my night. I'm glad she at least thinks other people consider me "cool."

My favorite part was the Gingerbread man. I wanted to poke his tummy and giggle. And he made me really hungry.

I love red and purple together so I had to document.

They loved the show but when all is said and done, I could have bought them some of this ribbon and they would have had an equally good time. They played with it for half an hour!
